  Apopka Elementary National Honor Society

The National Elementary Honor Society is a service organization that recognizes elementary scholars in both public and non-public elementary schools. Scholars are recognized for their outstanding academic achievement and demonstration of personal responsibility, to provide meaningful service to the school and community, and to develop essential leadership skills. The society will have two community service projects to complete each year.

Fourth and fifth graders have the opportunity to be inducted into the Apopka Elementary Chapter of the National Elementary Honor Society.  Scholars must meet certain criteria to be eligible for induction:

Scholars must have and maintain a 3.75 grade point average.

They must receive all O's and/or S’s in social development, work habits, and special areas on their report card.

Each scholar must be nominated by their classroom teacher.

They must receive two teacher recommendations.

Scholars must be unanimously voted for induction by the selection committee.

Scholars cannot have any discipline referrals.

The selection process will take place after the 2nd nine weeks.  Selected scholars will be required to attend meetings once a month after school, and participate in the service activities throughout the year.  We look forward to an exciting year of service to our community.

Sincerely,
Mrs. Button and Mrs. Runnells
